🧾 How Your Menu is Organized
joe POS is designed to be fast, intuitive, and barista-friendly.
🗂️ Categories & Subcategories
Your menu is grouped by categories like Favorites, Hot Drinks, Cold Drinks, and Food, displayed across the top.
You can customize and rearrange these to match your shop’s workflow.
⚙️ Modifiers
Tap any menu item to view available modifiers (e.g. size, milk, syrups), organized for fast selection.
➕ Miscellaneous Item
Need to ring in something not on the menu?
Use the ➕ icon to manually enter a price and description—great for custom orders or one-off items.
🎁 Gift Cards
Tap the Gift icon on the POS to manage gift cards.
✅ You can edit or add a note to the item by tapping it in the checkout screen.
Notes and details help with accurate reporting and tracking.
🎁 Access Gift Cards
Baristas and owners can use this section to manage everything related to gift cards.
1. Gift Card Purchases
✔️ View loyalty and gift card ledger
✔️ Search by customer name, phone number, or last 4 digits of the card
✔️ Filter by date range
✔️ Print receipts as needed
2. Check / Load / Clear Balance
Quickly check, add funds, or clear a gift card balance right from the POS.
3. Purchase Gift Cards
Sell gift cards as a single purchase or in bulk—perfect for regulars or corporate gifting.

🧾How to Use the Check Out Screen
To access the checkout screen, select the SHOPPING CART icon located at the top right of the menu. This will open the checkout screen where you can:
- Add a customer name
- Apply discounts
- Duplicate or edit items quickly and easily
Promotions and Discounts
- Tap the discount icon located under the item price to apply promotions or discounts.
Customer Information
- Enter the customer’s phone number manually, or wait for the customer to input it on the customer-facing screen.
Duplicate/Remove Items
- On the checkout screen, use the Duplicate button and the Trash Can icon found to the left of the item name to quickly duplicate or remove items.
For Here / To-Go
- Select Dine-In or To-Go for customer orders to assist with drink preparation and cup choices.
Payment Methods
- Cash
- Credit/Debit Card
- Gift Card
- Pay with Rewards Balance (customer must be logged in)
- Manually enter card details
- Split Payments
💸 Add Discount or Promotion
This feature allows baristas to quickly apply discounts to customers at checkout with just a tap. Discounts can be applied at the item level or to the entire order easily.
We understand the importance of offering discounts for employees, family, friends, and local community members — making it simple and fast to apply a discount.
Updates include:
- Discount Button at Checkout
- Dollar Incremental Discounts: $1, $2, $5, $10
- Percentage Incremental Discounts: 10%, 25%, 50%, and 100%
- Custom Discount: Choose between dollar ($$) or percentage (%%) and enter the desired discount amount.
➕Miscellaneous Item
Need to ring in something not on the menu?
1. Open the Menu
- Tap the ➕ Misc icon.
2. Enter Item Details
- Price: Enter the item price.
- Tax Exempt: Select if the item is tax-exempt.

Description: Add a short note or description of the item.
Tip: Including a description helps with end-of-day reporting and inventory tracking.
3. Add to Order Cart
- Add customer name or phone number (if required).
- Review all entered details.
- Tap Confirm to add the item to the cart.
4. Complete Checkout

- Proceed with checkout as usual.
- Process payment to finalize the order.
💳Manual Card Entry
If the card inserted or tapped cannot be processed due to an outdated card or error, you can manually enter the card details at checkout:
- Tap Enter Card Details
- Input the following:
- Credit Card Number
- Confirmation Code
- CVV
- Zip Code
🔀 Split Payments
- On the payment screen, select "Split" as the payment method.
- Tap "Split #1" and enter the amount the customer wants to pay.
- Choose the payment method (e.g., 💳 Credit Card, 🎁 Gift Card, ⭐ Loyalty Balance).
- For additional splits, repeat steps 2–3 for Split #2, Split #3, etc.
