We’ve introduced several updates to the Point of Sale (POS) system designed to make day-to-day operations smoother, faster, and more reliable for baristas.
1. Side Cart & User Notes
Enable Side Cart
- Purpose: The Side Cart allows baristas to view items as they are added to the order in real-time.
- Benefit: Reduces mistakes by giving a clear, running view of the order before checkout.
- How: Simply go ahead and go to Settings -> Features -> Scroll to Side Cart Visibility and toggle it on.
Customer User Notes
- Purpose: Baristas can now capture special notes directly tied to a customer’s order (e.g., “extra hot,” “light ice,” or customer-specific preferences).
- Benefit: Ensures a more personalized and accurate customer experience.

2. Cashier Mode
- Purpose: After completing an order, the POS automatically reverts back to the menu screen instead of the order management screen.
- Benefit: Saves time in high-volume environments by streamlining the flow and preparing the barista immediately for the next order.
- How: Simply go ahead and go to Settings -> Features -> Scroll to Cashier Mode and toggle it on.
3. High Latency Alert
- Purpose: When internet latency reaches 600 milliseconds, an alert appears on the POS device.
- Benefit: Keeps baristas informed of potential connection issues and helps them manage customer expectations if order delays occur.

4. Card Reader Update Progress Bar
When a card reader undergoes a software update, your team will now see a progress bar on the POS screen.
The progress bar shows the status of the update and how much time is remaining.
This ensures baristas know the device is updating and not malfunctioning.
Once the update is complete, the reader will automatically return to normal operation.
✅ Benefit: Provides clarity and reduces confusion during card reader updates, keeping your team informed and confident at checkout.
5. Kiosk Order Alerts
You now have control over how your team is notified when a Kiosk order is submitted. This setting ensures that your baristas stay on top of incoming orders in a way that best fits your workflow.
Options:
Mandatory Accept & Alert
Works like a mobile order workflow.
When a kiosk order is submitted, the POS triggers an alert and requires a barista to “Accept” the order before it moves forward.
✅ Best for: High-volume shops that want an extra layer of confirmation to avoid missed orders.
Store Alert Only
A simple chime plays when a kiosk order is submitted.
No “Accept” action is required; the order automatically appears in the queue.
✅ Best for: Shops with clear sightlines to the KDS or POS who prefer a faster, hands-off flow.
