How to Power On the Device
- Press and hold the Power button (top or side of the tablet) for 2–3 seconds.
- Release when the Samsung logo appears.
Note: If the tablet doesn’t turn on, ensure it is charged or connected to a power source.
Enable NFC for Customer-Facing Screen
If you are setting up a Customer Mode device, follow these steps:
- Login to Your Account
- Sign in with your Email and Password.
- Select Point-of-Sale Customer Facing
- Choose Customer Mode to set up the customer-facing experience.
- Enter Device Name
- Enter a name for this screen (e.g. Customer Facing).
- Pair Device to Barista Screen
- Follow the prompts to connect it to your main Barista device.
- Tap to Pay Setup
- Select the Enable Tap to Pay option.
6. Make sure to select what device is used to pair. You have two options:
- iMin Falcon 2
- Samsung Active Pro 5
Note: The tablet’s NFC setting is enabled by default, but if you encounter any issues, you can enable it by swiping down to open Quick Settings and tapping the NFC icon.
If it’s not visible, go to Settings > Connections > NFC and Contactless Payments, then toggle it ON.
Enable NFC During Onboarding for One Screen Solution
- Login to Your Account
- Sign in using your Email and Password.
- (Note: Soon you’ll be able to log in using your cell phone number.)
- Select Barista Mode
- Tap Barista Mode to configure your device.
- Enter Device Name
- Assign a name to this register (e.g., Front Counter POS).
- Enable One Screen Mode
- Go to Settings > Features.
- Toggle One Screen Mode ON.
Result: Your device is now ready to accept Tap to Pay as the primary payment method, allowing you to take contactless payments directly on your Falcon 2 without additional hardware.
Card Reader Setup (For Non-Tap Cards)
If a customer’s card doesn’t support NFC:
- Open the Joe App
- Go to Settings
- Disable Contactless Payment
- Under Card Readers, select Bluetooth or USB
- Connect and pair.
