Do coffee shops pay high fees when I order?
Not at all. Unlike other third-party apps, joe does not charge expensive commissions or subscriptions. Our pricing is usage-based and designed to support shop growth.
To keep things affordable for everyone:
- Shops pay only for services that help them grow.
- A small convenience fee is charged to customers.
- That fee is waived when you preload $10 or more to your joe account.
How do I avoid paying fees?
To skip the convenience fee:
- Simply preload funds to your joePass or a shop-specific loyalty card and pay from that balance.
- This helps keep costs low for shops and rewards you in return.

🙋♂️ What If There Are No Shops Nearby?
If you’ve preloaded funds to your joePass Card but don’t see any nearby shops:
- We’re happy to issue a full refund.
- Just email support@joe.coffee with the subject line:
"Refund joePass Balance"
By law, the shop is responsible for refunding any remaining balance — just like any other prepaid or gift card program.
- To request a refund, you'll need to contact the coffee shop directly.
