Daily Sales Summary
This is the source document for your daily or weekly sales journal entry — broken out by category, with the tax funding split clearly visible.
For each category, you'll see:
- Gross sales
- Merchant-Funded Promos
- Joe-Funded Redemptions
- Taxable base (gross minus your promos)
- Tax rate
- Tax Collected from Patrons
- Tax Reimbursed by Joe
- Total tax
Tips appear as their own 0% line — they're payable to staff, never revenue, and never subject to sales tax. Every row is automatically validated against the tax identity.
Supplementary lines also show:
- Orders
- Net Sales (gross minus your promos — Joe redemptions stay in)
- Patron goods payments
- Card Volume (patron goods payments + Tax Collected from Patrons + tips) — this is the figure that feeds your payout report
FAQ
Why is Net Sales higher than what Patrons actually paid?
Because Joe-funded redemptions stay in revenue. You're paid for those goods either way — partly by the Patron at the register, and partly by Joe's reimbursement in your payout.
