When serving customers in person, the joe Point of Sale offers an intuitive interface that allows baristas to easily customize drink orders and process payments efficiently, all while delivering a warm and personable experience.
Follow these two steps to create an order and complete checkout using joe Point of Sale:
1. Creating and Customizing an Order
- Start all in-person orders by selecting the coffee cup icon on the left menu bar.
- Use the category filters across the top to browse menu sections, then scroll down within each category to see available items.
- Tap an item to access additional options and modifiers.
- Select the desired size and add any customizations.
- Tap Add To Cart to add the item and return to the menu for additional orders.
- When ready, tap the Cart icon in the top right corner to proceed to checkout.
2. Checkout
- Review the order ticket displayed on the left side of the screen.
- To remove an item, tap the garbage can icon; to duplicate an item, tap the double page icon.
- Choose between For Here or To Go dining options by toggling on the right side of the ticket.
- Select a payment method:
- Cash: Enter the amount received; change due will be shown.
- Credit/Debit: Customers can leave a tip via the consumer-facing tablet and complete payment on the card reader.
- Gift Card: Swipe the store gift card using the black gift card reader to apply the balance.
- Pay with Balance: Available exclusively for Rewards customers with a gift card balance. Baristas tap Pay with Balance, then customers enter their unique 4-digit PIN on the tablet.
- The PIN is sent instantly via SMS and can also be found in the Wallet section of the joe Coffee App.
- Split Payments: Customers can split their payment using two methods, such as a partial gift card balance plus another payment method (e.g., Credit Card, Gift Card, Loyalty Balance)

- Once payment is completed, the order moves to the Order Status Screen for baristas to prepare.
