Require "Open Cash Till"
While the joe Point of Sale system does not require baristas to open a till before accepting orders, enabling this feature is considered industry best practice. Requiring baristas to "open a till" at the start of their shift helps ensure till accuracy and simplifies end-of-day reconciliation.
To require an opening cash till before orders can be accepted in-person, follow these steps:
How to Enable "Require Cash Till":
- Open the joe APP.
- Tap the Settings tab from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Select the Features tab.
- Locate the "Require Cash Till" option and toggle it ON.
✅ When this feature is enabled, any attempt to place an in-person order before opening the till will result in an error message.
🧾 Baristas will be prompted to open their till before proceeding with the order.
