Reader Overview

✅ Set-Up Instructions

STEP 1: Charge the Reader

• Connect the provided charging cable to the reader.
• Charge for at least 2 hours before first use.

STEP 2: Connect via Bluetooth

• Power on the reader.
• Enable Bluetooth on the tablet.
• IMPORTANT: Connect using your Point of Sale app, not through your device’s Bluetooth settings.p logo. For mag swipe and card insert payments, please ensure the card is orientated correctly as shown.

💳 Using the Reader

• Contactless Tap (NFC):
  Tap the card or mobile device within 4 cm of the contactless logo.
• Magstripe Swipe:
  Swipe the card with the magnetic stripe facing the correct direction.
• Chip Insert (EMV):
  Insert the card chip-first, following the reader’s orientation guide.

Charging Status

	Full charge
	75% charge
	50% charge
	25% charge
	Charging

⚠️ Cautions & Important Notes

• Ensure the reader is fully charged before use.
• Always orient the card correctly when swiping or inserting.
• Tap NFC cards within a 4 cm range of the reader logo.

🚫 Do Not:

• Drop, disassemble, crush, puncture, bend, or incinerate the device.
• Paint or insert foreign objects into the reader.
• Immerse in water or expose to moisture.
• Use heat sources (e.g., microwave, hairdryer) to dry the device.
• Clean with corrosive solvents or water.

✅ Recommended Cleaning Method:

• Use a dry, soft cloth only.
• Avoid sharp tools near internal components or connectors.
   

Connectivity and reader status

When you connect to the Stripe Reader M2, you can check the LEDs for the reader status.
