Store Wait Time Feature
The Store Wait Time feature helps set clear expectations for customers placing order-ahead purchases, especially during busy periods. It allows baristas to temporarily adjust the estimated wait time shown to all joe users.
When activated, this feature:
- Updates the wait time displayed on both the search screen and at checkout.
- Applies the updated wait time to all orders placed during the selected time period.
- Automatically reverts back to the default 5–10 minute pickup window once the set duration ends.
How to Adjust Store Wait Time on Your joe Device

Navigate to the Order Screen
From the main screen, open the menu tab on the left side of the screen and select the Order Screen tab. -
Open the Store Wait Time Settings
In the top-right corner, click on the Store Wait Time dropdown box. -
Set the Desired Wait Time
Choose the appropriate wait time from the list (up to 60 minutes). -
Set the Duration
Select how long you want the new wait time to remain active (up to 60 minutes).

If you set the Store Wait Time to 15–20 minutes for a 60-minute duration, all customers placing orders during that hour will see a 15–20 minute pickup estimate. After 60 minutes, the wait time will automatically reset to the default 5–10 minutes. -
Click Save
Once your selections are made, click Save to apply the changes.
Note: After the selected duration ends, your Store Wait Time will automatically revert to the default 5–10 minute pickup window.
