We understand that a smooth and rewarding checkout experience is key to customer satisfaction and loyalty. To further enhance the Joe app experience, we’ve introduced new improvements that make rewards, payments, and balances clearer and more engaging.
Improvement #1: Reward Gamification at Checkout
- A Reward Modal now appears during checkout if a customer has enough points to redeem a reward.
- The modal automatically suggests the highest reward available based on the customer’s points balance.
- Customers can choose to:
- Redeem Reward – Apply the reward to their current order.
- Save for Later – Keep their points and continue to checkout normally.
✅ Benefit: Encourages customers to redeem rewards in the moment, increasing engagement and perceived value.
Improvement #2: Low Balance Top-Up Alert
- Customers now see a Top-Up Alert when their stored value card has a low balance.
- The alert clearly displays the exact balance remaining and encourages them to reload before completing checkout.
✅ Benefit: Prevents declined transactions, reduces friction, and encourages customers to maintain an active stored value balance.
Improvement #3: Smart Checkout Payment Logic
We’ve simplified the default payment logic for a smoother checkout flow, especially for customers with multiple payment methods:
- If customer has a Store Valued Card balance > $0.00
→ Default = Store Valued Card. - If Store Valued Card balance = $0.00
→ Default = Joe Pass. - If Store Valued Card = $0.00 and Joe Pass = $0.00
→ Default = Bank or Credit Card (whichever is set as default).
Additional Enhancements:
- Transfer Balance: Customers can now transfer funds from their Store Valued Card into Joe Pass for flexible use.
- Split Payment: Customers can bring their stored value balance to $0.00 and pay the remainder with another method, without interrupting the mobile order experience.
✅ Benefit: Minimizes checkout friction, ensures customers always have a payment option, and increases reload and usage of stored value cards.
Improvement #4: Earn Points Modal
If a customer doesn’t yet have enough points for a reward:
The checkout widget now displays:
- Points Needed – Shows how many more points are required for the next reward.
- Call-to-Action Button – “Earn Points.”
When tapping Earn Points:
- If the customer has active challenges, a modal displays those challenges.
- If all challenges are completed, the customer is redirected to the Rewards Page.
✅ Benefit: Keeps customers motivated by showing them exactly how close they are to earning rewards.
