What is joe?
Joe is a system that lets you load funds online or in-person to use for orders at coffee shops that use the joe Point of Sale system.
Types of Funds:

Joe Pass Balance:
- Can be used at any coffee shop using joe.
- Great if you visit multiple locations.

Store-Specific Balance:
- Can only be used at the specific store where you loaded the funds.
- Sometimes applies across all locations of that store brand, depending on their setup.
How to Load Funds Online (via app or web):
If You're New to Joe:
- Download the joe app from the App Store or Google Play or at shop.joe.coffee.
- Open the app and tap the “Discover” tab to find nearby coffee shops.
- Select your favorite shop to view its menu.
- For first-time uploads:
- Tap the Dollar Icon or Funds Tab.
- Choose a preset amount ($10–$100) or enter a custom amount.
- Select your payment method and tap Pay.
- You’re all set! The shop now appears under the Loyalty tab.
If You're Already a Joe App User:
- Open the app and tap the Loyalty tab.
- Your favorite or most-used shop will appear as the first upload option.
- Swipe right to view your joe pass balance (if applicable).
- Tap the Funds Tab.
- Choose or enter your desired amount, select a payment method, and tap Pay.
Using Funds In-Person:
- Tell your barista you want to add funds to your store card.
- Specify how much money you want to upload.
- Complete payment at the register.
Important Notes:
- Online orders via the app always accept funds loaded, regardless of store setup.
- In-person use of loaded funds requires the store to use joe at the register and not be accepting online orders.
