Understanding your fees on joe

As of our September 15th update, we've enhanced our reporting to provide greater transparency, allowing you to see exactly how your fees break down across both in-person and mobile transactions. Our goal is to ensure you're fully informed about where every cent is going.

This is the updated reporting format you can find under Reports>Banking at manage.joe.coffee

Payment Processing

Previously, we combined payment processing and our commission into a single percentage. Now, we’ve separated these components, providing a clearer breakdown of each fee. The updated table outlines both the percentage and flat fees for in-person and mobile transactions. Each line item has its own column, all of which go directly to Stripe to cover the payment processing for your shop.

Growth Platform

These fees support the ongoing development and improvement of our platform, helping us continue to offer you the best product and customer service as we grow alongside you. In the report, this section is divided into three columns: App & Online Ordering, Reward Redemptions, and Loyalty Card Upload.

  • App & Online Ordering: This represents the portion of the percentage that was previously bundled as the joe commission. Nothing has changed in terms of cost, but we've separated it from the payment processing fee for added clarity.

  • Reward Redemptions: As of the September 15th update, we now cover reward redemptions at your shop. These redemptions are included in Net Sales on the Payout Summary, and when funds are transferred to you, the reward amount will appear as a separate line item.

  • Loyalty Card Upload: This column reflects any charges related to customers uploading funds to a store balance or gift card. There is a one-time fee when customers add funds to their account through your storefront on joe, but we do not charge them when they use those funds in subsequent transactions at your shop.

These details are also visible in larger reports, such as the Payout Summary, where each transfer is shown as a line item, with the corresponding amount appearing in the far-right column of the report.
