Adding a Card Reader - Stripe M2 Card Reader

joe Point of Sale operates using a Stripe M2 Card Reader to process credit card transactions. To get your shop set up and ready to accept payments, follow this instruction guide for pairing a card reader to your joe Point of Sale. 1 - Adding Bluetooth Card Reader

Note: The Stripe Reader M2 reader must be charged to 100% before pairing to your joe device via bluetooth.

1. Ensure the bluetooth on your tablet is turned ON.
2. Plug in bluetooth card reader cradle to reliable power source and turn ON the bluetooth Stripe Reader M2 card reader by pressing and releasing the power button. The status LEDs turn on and the reader beeps twice.
   1. Note: The reader will wait for a Bluetooth connection for five minutes before turning off.
3. On joe, tap the Gear icon on the left sidebar to open Settings followed by the Card Readers tab.
4. Tap Reader M2 Bluetooth, followed by Add Card Reader (Bluetooth)
   1. The device will search for the bluetooth card reader and request to pair with it. Select Pair in the bluetooth pop up window. 
5. When the reader connects to the joe POS app on your device, the status LEDs on top of the reader flash four times. After connecting, the first status light begins flashing at five second intervals. 
6. After paired, we recommend checking for an update and completing a test charge. 

2 - Adding USB Card Reader - Recommended!

1. Plug in the USB-C end of the white power cord into the card reader. Plug in the USB-A end of the white power cord to the Anker adapter.
   1. Note: Keep this plugged in throughout the day because this both charges the reader and sends data between the Point of Sale and the card reader
2. Turn ON the Stripe Reader M2 card reader by pressing and releasing the power button. The status LEDs turn on and the reader beeps twice.
3. On joe, tap the Gear icon on the left sidebar to open Settings followed by the Card Readers tab.
4. Tap Reader M2 USB, followed by Add Card Reader (USB)
   1. The device will search for the bluetooth card reader and request to pair with it. Select Pair in the device pop up window. 
5. When the reader connects to the joe POS app on your device, the status LEDs on top of the reader flash four times. After connecting, the first status light begins flashing at five second intervals. 
6. After paired, we recommend checking for an update and completing a test charge.
